ABOUT JORDAn
Jordan Zapper grew up in Meadow Vista, CA, and attended Colfax High School (CHS) where he excelled both inside and outside of the classroom. Jordan loved sports and was an especially strong athlete. While at CHS, Jordan played football and competed in wrestling. In football, Jordan played defensive back his junior year, and for his senior year switched to quarterback. Then, in a remarkable senior season, Jordan passed for 2,445 yards and 15 touchdowns in guiding the Falcons to a 10-1-1 record and the CIF Division IV championship. In wrestling, Jordan was the first CHS student-athlete to compete for the CIF state meet. Jordan was all-conference in both sports.
After graduating from CHS, Jordan matriculated to Sierra College where he played football and earned his AA. Jordan later transferred to Humboldt State. Jordan passed away unexpectedly on November 24, 2008 in the Island Mountain area of Humboldt County. He is survived by his mother Liz, father Russ, brother's Ryan and Dustin, and sister Jamie. Jordan was loved by all in the community especially his family, friends, teachers, and coaches. Jordan was kind, genuine, and always made time for his family, friends, and others. Although Jordan's life was cut short, he had a massive impact on those around him, and his memory and legacy will continue to inspire others for years to come.
